Natural England technical publications help communicate and apply our evidence. Reports add new evidence while information notes summarise and help people apply evidence, frequently providing practical advice to land managers and advisers.
Natural England Research Reports
These reports contribute to our evidence base. Since 2008 the research and writing of Natural England Research Reports has been carried out by Natural England staff. Prior to 2008 all research reports were published as Natural England Research Reports, including those written by contractors.
Natural England Commissioned Reports
Natural England commissions a range of research and follow-up reports from external contractors to generate evidence. These contribute to the delivery of the robust evidence base that underpins all our activities.
Natural England Information Notes
contain evidence-based information and guidance covering scientific and technical issues related to a broad range of work areas. They include practical advice to help our staff, partners and others implement work.
Many other Natural England publications
are evidence-based for example the 'State of' Reports
... and our Climate change
publications.
